Early snow hits US states

LET'S START

There is only one more day until autumn begins, yet in many parts of the United States, it feels more like winter than summer.

This week, snow has fallen in the states of Utah, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington as a result of a cold front that came down from Canada.

A low-pressure system and cold front swept into Utah on Thursday morning from the Pacific Northwest.

The first snow of the season fell as a result, and temperatures dropped 15 to 20 degrees below normal across the state.

A month earlier than previous year and two days before the formal start of fall, Snowbasin Resort announced on X that it had received its first snowfall of the season.

The first snow of the season fell in northern Idaho, and ski resorts like Schweitzer Mountain Resort took to social media to share their excitement.

Temperatures as low as 33 degrees Fahrenheit have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a frost alert for parts of eastern Idaho through Saturday.

Snow fell for the first time in certain parts of Montana on Thursday, and the mountains of western Montana are under a winter weather advisory until noon on Saturday.
